COVID-19 Vaccine Does Not Alter DNA, Says FG

Ahead of the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines in Nigeria, the Federal Government through the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has reassured Nigerians that the COVID-19 vaccine does not alter DNA.

The NOA said the vaccine will only help in the fight against the virus which has claimed over 1,300 lives in the country.

According to the Agency, the vaccine will be subjected to clinical trials to ensure it is safe before being administered.

“COVID-19 vaccine does not alter your DNA. It triggers an immune response that will protect your body against the virus if encountered,” the NOA tweeted.

“Once you and your community members are protected, the chances of the spread of the disease are reduced.”
