#COVID19Nigeria: 587 Fresh Cases Recorded, Total Now 17,735

Nigeria has recorded 587 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday as the national total has soared to 17,735 cases.

Ekohotblog reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 587 new COVID-19 cases in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Wednesday evening, June 17.

This online news platform understands that the NCDC noted that of the 587 COVID-19 cases recorded on Wednesday evening, 155 were detected in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, Edo-75 FCT-67 Rivers-65 Oyo-56 Delta-50 Bayelsa-25 Plateau-18 Kaduna-18 Enugu-17 Borno-12 Ogun-12 Ondo-7 Kwara-4 Kano-2 Gombe-2 Sokoto-1 Kebbi-1, northern Nigeria.

The NCDC tweeted: 587 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-155 Edo-75 FCT-67 Rivers-65 Oyo-56 Delta-50 Bayelsa-25 Plateau-18 Kaduna-18 Enugu-17 Borno-12 Ogun-12 Ondo-7 Kwara-4 Kano-2 Gombe-2 Sokoto-1 Kebbi-1 17,735 confirmed 5,967 discharged 469 deaths,” the tweet added.

However, EkoHotBlog reports that the development means that Nigeria’s total confirmed cases of coronavirus have risen to seventeen thousand and seven hundred and thirty-five (17,735) with five thousand, nine hundred and sixty-seven (5,967) people discharged and four hundred and sixty-nine (469) deaths recorded so far.
