Nigeria has recorded new infections with the NCDC announcing 779 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.
The new figures were disclosed by the health agency on Saturday night at exactly 11:42 pm, in a series of tweets via its verified account on the microblogging site, Twitter.

Ekohotblog understands that the NCDC noted that of the 779 COVID-19 cases recorded on Saturday evening, 285 were detected in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, Rivers-68 FCT-60 Edo-60 Enugu-56 Delta-47 Ebonyi-42 Oyo-41 Kaduna-19 Ogun-18 Ondo-16 Imo-12 Sokoto-11 Borno-9 Nasarawa-8 Abia-5 Gombe-5 Kebbi-5 Kano-4 Yobe-3 Ekiti-3 Osun-2, southwest Nigeria.
This brings the overall confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria to 24,077. As at the time this report was given, 8,625 persons have been discharged from the novel virus after testing negative while 558 people reportedly died of related disease.
