  • …SP Benjamin Hundeyin provided details of the incident.

EDITOR’S PICK:

EKO HOT BLOG reports that two herders have been taken into custody by the Lagos State Police in Badagry’s Age Mowo neighborhood.

On Monday, the cattle rearers were detained in connection with the alleged murder of a man.

Recall that EKO HOT BLOG had earlier reported in a video sighted shows the lifeless body of the victim on the ground as mourners gathered.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a police spokesman, provided information about the event.

The victim, according to Hundeyin, was mistaken for the driver of an LT Volkswagen commercial bus.

At around 6.30am, the vehicle had struck a herd of livestock, killing a cow.

“The two cattle herders attacked someone they mistook for the vehicle conductor, resulting in his death. The herders have been arrested”, Hundeyin tweeted.

The PRO attested that protesting passengers and irate locals obstructed the highway.

Later, the blockage was effectively removed with the help of soldiers from the 243 Recce Battalion, Badagry, and the DPO, Morogbo Division.

It is untrue, according to the command, that the victim was turned away when he sought safety in a police station.

“He did not make it off the accident scene, let alone reach the station”, Hundeyin added.

The police assured that normalcy had been restored to the area. An investigation has commenced.
