CPC Youths Denies Defection
The Youth Wing of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), now part of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has firmly dismissed rumours suggesting it plans to exit the APC merger.
In a statement released on Friday, the group reaffirmed its loyalty to the APC and expressed unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and reform-driven policies aimed at repositioning Nigeria. The statement was jointly signed by the National Youth Leader, Abubakar Maikudi, and the Kogi State Youth Leader and Coordinating Chairman of States Youth Leaders Forum, Sani Ogu Salisu.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the youth leaders described the withdrawal rumour as false and condemned those circulating it, stressing that such narratives are baseless and counterproductive. According to them, the defunct CPC bloc within the APC remains united and fully aligned with President Tinubu’s vision for national development.
They further pledged support for the Senator Tanko Al-Makura-led Stakeholders’ Engagement and Endorsement Group of the CPC, describing it as an initiative aimed at strengthening the party’s internal unity and sustaining its political dominance.
The statement also appealed to former President Muhammadu Buhari and other senior stakeholders of the defunct CPC to throw their full weight behind Senator Al-Makura’s leadership, saying such backing would contribute to building a more formidable and cohesive APC.
The youth leaders praised the current administration for its bold steps in policy reforms. “President Tinubu’s administration has shown strong commitment to implementing policies that will drive economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life for all Nigerians. We believe these policies are crucial for Nigeria’s development,” the statement read.
CPC Youths Denies Defection
Meanwhile, prominent CPC figures including former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, and 21 other CPC leaders have openly declared their support for President Tinubu and the APC.
Also lending his voice, former Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, reaffirmed the CPC bloc’s loyalty to the APC and dismissed claims of a planned pullout as a fabrication.
