Crisis Looms In Kano As Kwankwaso Hints At Sanusi’s Return As Emir

Eko Hot Blog reports that another wave of concern has swept through Kano as the former Governor of the State and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has declared that the establishment of the five emirate councils will “certainly be reconsidered.”

Recall that the Immediate past Governor of Kano Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, had split the Kano emirate into five after he dethroned the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Although the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has been silent over the reversal of Ganduje’s action, the presidential candidate of the NNPP insisted the removal of the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was carried out in bad blood.

The renewed demand to remove the two sons of the late Emir, Alh. Ado Bayero, along with the other five first-class monarchs has dominated public conversations as soon as the Supreme Court upheld Abba Yusuf’s election as Kano governor.

In an interactive session with some group of broadcast journalists on Thursday night, Kwankwaso stated that the NNPP government will review the entire situation in order to right any wrongs.

“To be honest, no one has sat down with me to discuss it yet, but I’m sure we’ll sit down and figure out how to go about it,” Kwankwaso remarked. Will it be accepted, destroyed, fixed, or something else entirely? It will be reviewed again, and the appropriate action will be done.

This was a trap, and there were many other things. None of these actions were carried out with good intentions or faith. We all know that it was brought with malicious intent, as do our listeners and each of you present.

“Occasionally, the good things you bring turn out to be bad, and occasionally, the bad things you bring turn out to be good.” All I know is that I haven’t been consulted thus far, but we will undoubtedly get together to talk and decide what has to be done.

In addition to publicly pledging his undying allegiance to Kwankwaso, the head of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Governor Yusuf has on many occasions declared that his administration will work as an extension of Kwankwaso’s government.
