EKO HOT BLOG reports that in what could be termed as a major boost to Portugal’s national team, Roberto Martinez, their new manager, has called up Cristiano Ronaldo to the squad ahead of Euro 2024. The move comes after Ronaldo’s alleged fall out with former manager Fernando Santos, and concerns over his future in the national team.

However, his absence from the national team during the World Cup raised eyebrows, leading to speculations that he could be considering retiring from international football.
However, Martinez’s appointment as the new manager of the Portugal national team has brought fresh hope for Ronaldo’s international career. Speaking about Ronaldo’s inclusion in the squad, Martinez stated, “Cristiano Ronaldo is a very committed player. He can bring experience and is a very important figure for the team. I don’t look at age.”
Martinez, who took over the reins of the Portugal national team after an underwhelming performance by Belgium in the World Cup, had promised to speak with Ronaldo about his role in the team. His decision to call up Ronaldo suggests that the talks went well, and that the 38-year-old forward will be an integral part of Portugal’s plans for Euro 2024.
Ronaldo’s inclusion in the squad comes at a crucial time for Portugal, who are looking to defend their European Championship title.
