Briefing reporters on Thursday in Calabar, Grimah said the command achieved results despite challenges, attributing it to raids on criminal hideouts and intelligence-based policing.

However, he noted the command lost 5 personnel in the line of duty last year.

Grimah said, “You can bear me witness as we always invite you to headquarters for press briefings where suspects are paraded to inform you of efforts to ensure the state maintains its record as the most peaceful.”

“In keeping with IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s vision to stem crime and make Nigeria safer, the command under my watch is taking drastic measures fighting criminals,” he added.

The commissioner saluted officers for reducing crime and said all efforts will focus on preventing crimes and apprehending offenders.

Grimah stated, “Therefore, all our efforts and energies shall be geared towards the prevention of crimes and the successful apprehension of offenders that would test our resolve.”

The briefing highlighted the command’s achievements but also sacrifices in 2023. While crime rates dropped through proactive enforcement, 5 brave officers were lost battling violence.
