The cult groups expressed remorse and sought forgiveness for their past actions while denying any involvement in the recent assassination of Chief Abiodun Folarin, the Basogun of Itunsokun, Sagamu.
The unknown assailants, believed to be three in number, shot and killed Chief Abiodun Folarin on January 8, sparking suspicions of cult-related activity. However, the cult groups, in their letter titled “Letter of Apology,” vehemently denied any connection to the heinous act.
The letter, addressed to the Akarigbo and other traditional rulers and chiefs in the Sagamu community, reiterated the cult groups’ commitment to peaceful coexistence and adherence to the community’s rules and regulations.
Chief Bayo Onafuwa, the Baamofin of Remoland, acknowledged the existence of the letter but expressed uncertainty about its genuineness, stating that the palace had seen it like everyone else.
