Mrs Dabiri-Erewa stated this during the formal presentation of the equipment to the General Hospital along with the donors UK based organization “Bridge the Gap” which boasts of some highly accomplished Okemesi indigenes such as Mr. Dare Babarinsa and Dr. Nathaniel Olaoye both of whom were present at the event.

She said it’s now time for diasporic Nigerians to engage on the macro level through the instrumentality of the Nigerians in Diaspora Investment Trust Fund that has just been established by the Buhari government.

“Considering the huge amount of Diaspora remittances, this policy instrument is a veritable avenue by which the nation’s economic development can be accelerated.

“Although NiDCOM will soon embark on a massive campaign and awareness creation for this Fund, I want you to please help us advertise this Fund among Nigerians when you get back to your base,” she said.

According to her, a new Nigeria can be built through collaboration between Nigerians at home and abroad.

She said the likes of him are part and parcel of nation-building and his actions are worth emulating.

In his remarks, Mr Obaro said Nigeria is blessed with many human, material and intellectual resources to attain the development level of countries like Israel, India and China and lead the world’s black people.

He also commended Ms Dabiri-Erewa for her efforts in putting the Nigerian Diaspora on the global map and projecting people in the country in general as trailblazers.

Mr Obaro, who said he has lived in the UK for over 40 years, is a radiologist with the King George’s Hospital in the UK.
