EKO HOT BLOG reports that popular broadcaster and socialite, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has accused the supporters of Peter Obi, the former Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), of rigging the Lagos State Eti-Osa Federal Constituency election in favour of Attah Thaddeus of the Labour Party, against Olubankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W.
According to reports, Attah Thaddeus emerged as the winner of the election with 24,075 votes, while Banky W and Babajide Obanikoro of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) respectively, scored 18,666 and 16,901 votes.
Daddy Freeze, during a live Instagram session, alleged that the election was rigged in favour of the Labour Party’s candidate. He claimed that Attah was not known by anyone and his face was not on campaign fliers like other candidates.
Furthermore, Daddy Freeze stated that Peter Obi’s supporters should accept the defeat of their candidate at the presidential level, just like Banky W and his supporters have accepted the outcome of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency election.
It should be noted that Banky W, a popular Nigerian singer, had contested for a seat in the Nigerian House of Representatives during the 2019 general elections under the platform of the Modern Democratic Party (MDP). He, however, lost the election to Attah Thaddeus of the Labour Party.
The allegations made by Daddy Freeze have stirred mixed reactions on social media, with some supporting his claims while others have dismissed them as baseless. It remains to be seen whether any legal action will be taken regarding the allegations of electoral fraud.
