Dark Petrol In Bottles, Jerrycans Not From Us – NNPCL
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has dismissed as false a video showing dark petrol allegedly purchased from one of its filling stations in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
The video, which showed someone pouring a dark liquid from a bottle and claiming it was Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) bought from an NNPCL station, has been debunked by the corporation.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement issued on Thursday, NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, clarified that an investigation into the matter revealed that the petrol in question was not bought from any of its filling stations.
Soneye emphasized that NNPCL does not sell adulterated products, highlighting that the company follows strict quality control measures and standards throughout its operations.
“NNPCL does not dispense petroleum products into bottles or jerrycans as shown in the video.
“We conducted spot checks at all our outlets, and the claim was found to be false,” Soneye said.
He further reassured the public that NNPCL is committed to maintaining high-quality, safe, and reliable petroleum products at all its stations nationwide.
“We take pride in upholding pump integrity through regular inspection and calibration to ensure consistency across our stations,” Soneye added.
NNPCL also urged the public to disregard the misleading claims in the video and to remain cautious of those promoting unfounded narratives that harm the nation’s image.
