Date Fixed For Resumption Of Premier League

After meeting with the sports authorities in England, professional football league has been given declaration to open by June.

The league which has been assigned to start by June 12 as a result of players being negative after they had gone through serials of a test of a covid-19 pandemic.

Culture Secretary, Oliver Dowden said the authority met yesterday, Thursday after the meeting they held on Monday just to finalize on the resumption date and to also mention other directives. One of the directives is that the league will resume without spectators.

“We all agreed that we will only go ahead if it is safe to do so and the health and welfare of players, coaches, and staff first,” he added.

The postponement of matches in the top four divisions in England began on March 13.

Several Premier League clubs have already allowed players back into their training grounds to train individually, under strict conditions.

It is hoped that a limited amount of group training can start being reintroduced on Monday.

“It is now up to the football authorities to agree and finalize the detail of their plans, and there is combined goodwill to achieve this for their fans, the football community, and the nation as a whole,” Mr. Dowden continued.

“The government and our medical experts will continue to offer guidance and support to the game.”
