Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has opened up about his humble beginnings, revealing that he once lived in a one-room apartment in a public compound, commonly referred to as a “face-me-I-face-you” in Nigeria.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a song titled CFMF, from his newly released fifth studio album, 5ive, Davido attributed his current extravagant lifestyle to divine intervention from Jesus, as he shared his personal journey from modest origins to his present-day success.

Fans have taken to social media to express their doubts about Davido’s humble beginnings claims, considering the singer is the son of billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke.
Some find it difficult to believe that the star truly experienced a modest upbringing, given his privileged background.

Some fans argue that the singer might be romanticizing his past to connect with a broader audience, while others suggest that his success can be attributed, at least in part, to his family’s wealth and influence.
