EKO HOT BLOG reports that popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke, who is widely known by his stage name Davido, and music talent manager, Ubi Franklin, have taken to social media to call out a fake Twitter account that is impersonating Davido’s wife, Chioma.
Davido and Franklin, in separate tweets on Tuesday, revealed that Chioma does not have a Twitter account and warned fans and social media users to disregard any tweets from the fake page.
In a trending disclaimer post that was accompanied by a screenshot, Ubi Franklin explained that the particular Twitter account, which has a similar username to Chioma’s Instagram page, is fake and is only impersonating her.
Franklin tweeted: “This page is impersonating Chef Chi. Kindly disregard any tweet from this Twitter handle. Thank you.”
Retweeting Franklin’s disclaimer post on his official Twitter handle, Davido also noted that “Chioma has no Twitter.”
The impersonation of public figures and celebrities on social media is a common occurrence in Nigeria, with many individuals using fake accounts to scam people or spread false information. It is not uncommon for celebrities to warn their fans about such fraudulent activities on their social media handles.
Davido, a multiple award-winning artist, has a massive following on social media, with millions of fans across various platforms.
His wife, Chioma Avril Rowland, is also a popular figure on social media, where she shares pictures of her personal life and cooking skills with her fans.
