EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Senior Pastor of Household of Love Church, Badore Ajah Lagos, Rev’d Yinka Yusuf yesterday asserted that it is blasphemous to call Jesus Christ a prophet, insisting that he is too big to be a prophet.
Following the lynching and setting ablaze of Deborah Samuel, a second-year Home Economics student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto over alleged blasphemy, President Muhammadu Buhari issued a statement where he condemned the jungle justice by Islamic extremists.
Buhari, had in his statement, said, “that Muslims all over the world demand respect for the Holy Prophets, including Isah (Alaihissalaam, Jesus Christ) and Muhammad (SAW) but where transgressions occur, as alleged to be the case in this instance, the law does not allow anyone to take matters into their hands.”
But delivering a sermon titled “understanding the blood of Jesus” in his Church, the leading evangelist stated that the most dangerous thing one can get involved in is religion, and went on to expose misconceptions people have about Jesus Christ.
His words, “I was listening to the television two days ago and our dear president, President Buhari said something. He said that our religion respects and beliefs in all prophets, even Jesus Christ. That is blaspheming.
“Calling Jesus Christ a prophet is blaspheming. Because Jesus is not a prophet…but that’s the problem with religion. Jesus from the day he was on earth till today, people are still calling him who he is not.
