The Military Defence Headquarters under its latest operations tagged ‘Operation Accord’, has again renovated classrooms and donated two boreholes to the most troubled vulnerable communities in Plateau State.
The gesture is framed at winning the hearts and minds of the vulnerable aimed at extending hands of fellowship to the beneficiaries, says the Commander, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Maj. Gen. Chukwuemeka Okonkwo.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Thursday in communities of Bassa Local Government Area, Gen. Okonkwo said the effort is part of the non-kinetic approach of Operation Accord.
“The Defence Headquarters embarked on some developmental projects in the host communities as part of Civil-Military Cooperation within OPSH operational areas.
This is aimed at winning the hearts and minds of the people as well as giving back to the hosts communities.
“Some of the projects embarked upon includes the reconstruction of 2 boreholes in Fulani community at Barkin-ladi and one in Berom community.
“Today the Defence Headquarters is commissioning two boreholes in Nkindero and Gagaule in Bassa LGA, as well as one block of four classrooms, Okonkwo said.
On his part, the Defence Headquarters’ Chief Civil Military Cooperation, Rear Admiral Habila Ngalabak, said the effort will be sustained but urge to people to continue to live in peace with their neighbours.
Also, the State Governor, Simon Lalong, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Security, Cornelius Shoalbial, admonished the people to shun violence and embrace peace.
