Job Title: Demand Planner

Location:  Lagos, Nigeria
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

  • Nestlé Nigeria is currently looking for a Demand Planner to develop, maintain and improve a demand plan for a portfolio of products and customers; ensuring the alignment of this demand plan with internal and external partners through the Monthly Business Planning (MBP) and collaborative planning processes. The individual would assist in identifying and managing exceptions; as well as monitor performance in order to continually improve the quality and reliability of the demand plan and the organization’s ability to sense and respond to changing circumstances.

A day in the life of:

  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to manage portfolio lifecycle, such as new product launches, packaging changes, phase-in/phase-out, and product discontinuation; ensuring that demand is appropriately forecasted and maintained in all circumstances.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to drive effective MBP processes in order to reach a consensual demand plan which becomes a primary input to the Dynamic Forecast.
  • Collecting information and assumptions about events and activities in relation to promotions, product launches and customer/distribution changes that form important parts of demand planning.
  • Generating and maintaining statistical forecasts in SAS Forecast Studio (supported by the Demand Analyst); finalizing the total volume forecast by combining incrementals and impactors.

Requirements
Minimum Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

Minimum Relevant Work Experience:

  • 2 – 4 years relevant experience in the Supply Chain function within an FMCG company.

What will make you successful:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Economics, Statistics, Engineering or other related courses.
  • 2 – 4 years relevant experience in the Supply Chain function within an FMCG or similar company. Experience working with cross-functional teams (including Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Production and Finance) is an added advantage.
  • Experience managing and relating with multiple levels of employees including mid-level to senior management categories.
  • Familiarity with Monthly Business Planning processes and tools.
  • Data-driven individual with strong analytical and numeracy skills; able to effectively create and interpret applicable simulations.
  • Proficiency in the use of SAP (including APO DP), Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and PowerBI. Knowledge of the use of SAS Forecast Studio is an added advantage.
  • Great communications skills (Oral and Written).
  • Forward-thinking individual with a great degree of proactiveness and innovation.
  • High level of assertiveness and tenacity (can-do spirit).

Job Title: Factory Chemist

Location: Abaji, Abuja
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

  • Nestle Nigeria is currently looking for a Factory Chemist who would be responsible for the overall coordination of the chemistry laboratory; including analysis of physical and chemical properties of products, managing chemical contaminants, coordinating and interfacing with the relevant partners for the implementation of the annual monitoring plan in line with the approved contaminant assessment and tracking methodology.

A day in the life of…

  • Chemical and physical analyses of raw materials and line samples (in-process).
  • Providing guidance on product recipe and compliance management especially in the area of chemical contaminants.
  • Coordinating the organization’s Confidence Assessment and Tracking Programme.
  • Managing the Chemical Contaminant Monitoring Programme.
  • Coordinating HAZMAT (Hazardous Material) Programme for Abaji factory.
  • Managing the inventory of the laboratory and supporting (advice) on procurement of laboratory re-agents, standards, materials and equipment.
  • Coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration, as well as the ICP (Internal Control Plan) for all lab equipment.
  • Managing GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) Programme, including analytical method monitoring, method verification and Chemistry Proficiency Testing for Abaji Factory.
  • Acting as the Laboratory Safety champion and Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) representative for the Quality Assurance department.
  • Qualification of Factory Personnel, such as other QA staffs and Water treatment Technicians on Analytical Methods.
  • Supporting the Food Safety Team on Chemical contaminants.
  • Interfacing with the relevant partners in Yearly Monitoring Plans and other areas of improvement/challenge.

Requirements
What will make you successful:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Food Engineering, Biochemistry, Food Science/Technology or other closely-related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a food processing environment within a similar FMCG company.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), including knowledge of the usage of SAP.
  • Knowledge of analytical and problem-solving tools such as PARETO, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma or DMAIC, Fishbone, KAIZEN, TPM, etcetera.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
  • Good analytical skills, able to draw up fact-based analyses and make sound decisions.
  • Innovative and dynamic individual; quick-thinker with a high level of agility and adaptability to change.
  • Proximity to Abaji Factory, Abuja or its environs is a key requirement
