Eko Hot Blog reports that Egboroland of Ijebu-Jesa in Osun state was agog and stood still over the weekend when Otunba Funmi Abiodun-Findo Snr, the Founder and Executive Chairman of Findobact Holdings Corporation Ltd, a real estate company, was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Otunba Atunluse of Egboroland.
His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye ll, Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, conferred the title on Abiodun-Findo at a colourful ceremony on Saturday.
The conferment ceremony was a blend of culture and glamour which brought together family, friends and well-wishers from Nigeria and other countries, as well as royal fathers, high chiefs from within and neighbouring communities.
The ceremony was held at the palace of Oba Agunsoye ll.
Following an opening prayer, Kehinde Olatunji, the Bobagunwa of Egboroland, read the biography/citation of Otunba Abiodun-Findo.
An emotional Otunba Abiodun-Findo appreciated his mother and spoke fondly of her support over the years.
He went on to appreciate the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa for the honour bestowed on him and earnestly thanked his family, friends and well-wishers who had come together to witness the ceremony.
Making reference to his title “Atulunse”, Otunba Abiodun-Findo told everyone at the ceremony that “Life is for service to God through humanity,” a mantra he strongly believes in and has lived by.
The installation rites were performed by royal fathers present leading up to the conferment of Otunba Abiodun-Findo as the Otunba Atunluse of Egboroland.
Prayers were offered by Oba Agunsoye ll, High Chiefs and the Otunba Atunluse’s beloved mother.
Thereafter, members of the community welcomed the newly installed chief amidst entertaining cultural display, singing, and dancing.
A beautiful and colourful reception held to celebrate the conferment rounded off the ceremony.
Earlier, Otunba Abiodun-Findo spoke exclusively with Eko Hot Blog on his passion for service to humanity.
He said, “The installation is destiny fulfilled. I am walking in the footsteps of my ancestors to become an Otunba today. I have always been like a prime minister in every community and society I associate with to make sure things are done and are moving forward.
“That has always been my goal. Me becoming an Otunba just makes it official. Coincidentally, it’s starting in Ijebu-Jesa, and will still go back home to Ijebu-Mushin and do the same thing. So I’m glad we’re doing this and I feel fulfilled.”
He further stated that “just like my title says, Atunluse, because of where the story of my life began, I have always promised God that when I get there at the top, I would give back.
“I am not super wealthy or super rich but by His grace, I am rich and have decided that the next line of action is to start giving back. I have formed the Findo Financial Funding, Findo Realty, Findo Homes, now I am with FindoCare, which is my pet project and baby at the moment.
“By the grace of God, FindoCare would be giving $100,000 to projects, to humanity which helps lift people out of poverty every year. As God bless me more, I will increase the giving.”
He also disclosed that the beneficiaries of FindoCare would be individuals in the community who need help the most.
Otunba Abiodun-Findo mentioned that the project would be executed through direct cash transfer. He added that in the last 24 months, N40 million has been given out to about 800 individuals in direct cash transfers.
In a separate interview with Eko Hot Blog, Oba Agunsoye II said the new chief deserved the title of “Otunba Atunluse” because of his philanthropic nature, his exemplary desire to do good for the community, and his honest to God nature.
He noted that Otunba Abiodun-Findo had promised to bring development to the community and he kept his word by initiating a Multipurpose Building project which would house various government agencies, create employment for his subjects and open up the community to investors.
The Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa added that he was confident that in coming years, the real estate executive would do more for the community and its people.
