Development, Growth Of Epe Remains Our Priority – Hon. Wale Raji

  • Lagos Federal Lawmaker, Commissioner, others Grace Epe NYCN Ramadan Lecture.

The Lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Wale Raji (MHR), has reiterated his commitment to the growth and development of the ancient town.

Raji assured his constituents of his supports towards any cause or programme organised by the Youth Council Leadership irrespective of faith that are geared towards hastening the progress of the town in every field of human endeavour.

Raji gave the assurance when he spoke at the annual Ramadan Lecture organised by the Epe branch of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

Represented by his Senior Legislative Aide (SLA), Bashir Hassan, he admonished the youths to eschew social vices that are capable of causing irreparable dangers in their lives.

He however urged the Council to balance such programmes with that of other faiths and posited that the society would be a better place if Ramadan holy habits were kept.

Earlier, the event, which featured Quranic recitation, saw the emergence of Balogun Taofeek from Alaro Senior High school, Ogunrinde Aminat from Odomola Senior High School and Balogun Mubarak from Odo-Obara Senior High School as 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. The Quranic quiz competition which followed thereafter was a delight for the gathering as each school representative slugged it out for the prize.

After the lecture was delivered by the guest lecturer, Dr MA Shittu, Dr BA Onakoya led the special prayer for the youths, after which the Chairman of the Ramadan Committee, Mr Babatunde Kaka, rendered the vote of thanks.

Other notable personalities who graced the event are, Retired MOCPED Bursar, Alhaja Khadijat Hassan, Commissioner 4, TESCOM, Dr MA Shittu, MOCPED Deputy Provost, Dr Abdulkareem Onakoya, FNIMC, Mrs Shabi ( ENGINE Girls ), Comrade Nelson, Comrade Sheriff Kawojue, Comrade Salau Adeniyi Taofeek, Comrade Muhammed Abdul-Azeez (PPC) and a host of others.
