According to him, the relationship between the Lagos state government and the apex group of Lagosians in the diaspora, Eko Club International, has significantly augmented the efforts of his principal in providing social security and economic opportunities for all Lagosians.
In furtherance of the Governor’s THEMES agenda, which is largely premised on honing and harnessing the productive inclinations of Lagosians living at home and abroad, the Lagosians in the diaspora network was inaugurated.
This network will be saddled with the responsibility of helping Lagosians tap into the abundance of opportunities replete in the state’s socio-economic framework.
The thrust of the network will be its unique role of keeping Lagosians informed about such investment opportunities that will yield promising returns to the investor and the state at large.
“I, therefore, admonish all Lagosians in the diaspora to leverage this opportunity to subscribe and join the group of like-minded Lagosians to come together and deliberate on issues germane to the development of the state.”
More discussions and consultations are expected to be held between the government and diaspora Lagosians to hash out the kinks of exploiting the relationship towards increased economic development in the state.
Lagosians in the diaspora are the key, and the recipe for sustainable development of the state and the administration of Gov Sanwoolu is committed towards leveraging on the economic dimension as well as expertise of the diaspora community in the drive to achieve the “Greater Lagos” dream.
