Dickson Lauds FG, NNPC for Engaging Tantita

Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Seriake Dickson, praised the Federal Government’s engagement of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) as a commendable initiative.

Eko Hot Blog gathered that Dickson emphasized the importance of expanding Tantita’s coverage area to enhance its contributions to the nation during his visit to Oporoza, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State.

Speaking at the event on Friday, Dickson, who currently represents the Bayelsa West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, also lauded the traditional ruler of the kingdom, His Majesty Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, and the community for supporting government initiatives by maintaining peace and stability in the Niger Delta region.

He commended High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, the founder of Tantita, for his “uncommon patriotism in the fight against crude oil theft as well as curbing environmental degradation in the region, thus restoring aquatic lives to the Niger Delta waters.”

Accompanied by several political associates and supporters from Bayelsa State, Dickson stated that his visit was to express solidarity with the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom, whom he referred to as his kinsmen.

He highlighted the strategic importance of Gbaramatu Kingdom within the Ijaw nation, the Niger Delta, and Nigeria.

Dickson appreciated the efforts of the people and Tantita in combating vandalism of strategic national assets and reducing illegal bunkering and environmental degradation caused by illegal refineries.

He said, “The good thing that the Federal Government and the NNPC and all the agencies have done is by engaging a man who understands the physical terrain and also the operating environment.

“All the systems he knows. And that’s why he and his people have been able to bring some semblance of normalcy. A lot still has to be done, so I want to encourage him now that I am here. I have seen development myself. I want to encourage him to do more.”
