An evening of Service of Songs has been held in honour of late Pastor Pastor Samuel Adelaja Adebowale, as part of the funeral arrangements for him.
The service which took place on Thursday, brought together friends and family members of Mr Adebowale, who were present to eulogise and testify about his existence while he was alive.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Oyo Province 2, New Bodija, Ibadan, was filled with dignitaries from all walks of life as they all came to give their last respect to the man, who many described as a courageous leader and role model.
The service of songs started with a Praise & worship session from the choir, followed by an opening prayer by Pastor Olaniran James. The program continued with bible readings and hymnal sessions in the solemnization of the deceased.
Speaking of his personality, the coordinator at the event, who called for testimonials, started by describing Late Pastor Adebowle as a “soldier of Christ” who led by example.
Speaking further, a former coursemate at Ahmadu Bello University simply identified as Mr Adepoju, called him his best friend while in class. He noted that the deceased had been a lover of God right from time.
Mr Adeopoju highlighted his desire for success and how he was able to achieve his dream of being at the peak of quantity surveyor in Nigeria.
A friend in the Neighbourhood, A retired permanent secretary, Mr Adeyemi, described Pastor Adebowale as a nice individual who is also a cheerful giver. “He is a very quiet person,” he added.
In his sermon, the preacher noted that the best way for any individual to leave behind worthy legacies is to serve humanity well while alive, making references to the existence and lifetime of Pastor Adebowale.
Before his demise, he was known to be A Pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God and a Quantity Surveyor.
