Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Douye Diri, has ordered an investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of a youth in Ovom community in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.
Diri also directed that an autopsy be carried out to determine the cause of the youth’s death, whose identity had not been disclosed.

Reports alleged that the youth was shot dead by a policeman evening of Thursday but the state Police Command claimed the deceased while trying to escape arrest jumped from the ceiling, got injured on his neck, and confirmed dead in hospital where he was rushed to.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Asinim Butswat, in a press release, explained that the deceased was among suspects in their hideout at Ovom area where a team of policemen were led to by three other suspects earlier arrested for trying to sell off three suspected stolen android phones in another part of Yenagoa.
