EKO HOT BLOG reports that DJ Magic Jay, a Jamaican disk jockey based in the United Kingdom, has come forward with a shocking account of how he was allegedly slapped by Grammy-award-winning Nigerian singer, Wizkid, at an event in London back in 2018.
Recounting the incident during an interview on Ruggedman TV, hosted by renowned Nigerian rapper Ruggedy Baba, DJ Magic Jay expressed his admiration for Nigerian afrobeats music and explained that he attended YCee’s concert at the 02 Academy in Islington, London, where the incident took place.

According to DJ Magic Jay, he approached Wizkid to greet him at the concert, eager to introduce himself as a Jamaican who deeply appreciates afrobeats. However, instead of a warm reception, he claimed that Wizkid abruptly slapped his hand away when he attempted to shake hands.
Sharing his side of the story, DJ Magic Jay said,
“During YCee’s concert at the 02, I walked in and went to greet him [Wizkid]. I said, ‘Hi, how are you doing, Wizkid? My name is Cool Magic Jay; a Jamaican guy who loves afrobeats.’ I went to shake his hand, and he slapped my hand away.”
The Jamaican DJ expressed his surprise and disappointment at the incident, stating that he holds a great admiration for Wizkid’s music.
