She wrote: “Going into a male-dominated space, you have to have zeal and be strong. Women have to work twice as hard to get half as much done. Compared to my male counterparts, I’m still underpaid, undervalued and according to them, I have a particular aesthetic that I fight to this day,”
She continued to say “My advice is to be at peace with yourself because men in that industry will tell you that you are not good enough. You have to come at peace with yourself and know that you are enough. You will have a difficult time if you work just for validation. Do what you love. Understand you environment and build on your strength.
It was earlier reported that in a series of videos on her Instagram story, Cuppy said that if she hadn’t stopped DJing, she wouldn’t have been able to overcome the pressure of studying at Oxford.
According to her, one of the reasons she struggled with schooling was because she had to pause her music career.
She said, “I feel like the worst part of struggling with academics in Oxford is the fact that I haven’t been able to do what I love.
“I love music. I love DJing. I love working, and it’s been hard. I’m really proud of myself for sticking through and I cannot wait to get back to DJing and get back to being Cuppy again.
