EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to information obtained from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos and Abuja, the dollar is being sold at ₦1,500 and bought at ₦1,475, maintaining the same rate recorded on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Market experts say the naira’s performance this week will depend largely on inflows from oil revenue, remittances, and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) interventions in the official market.
Despite the steady rates, traders continue to express concerns over Nigeria’s foreign exchange volatility, which has affected importers and the general price stability of goods and services.
Below is a summary of today’s black market and CBN rates:
| Dollar to Naira (USD to NGN) | Black Market Exchange Rate Today |
|---|---|
| Selling Rate | ₦1,500 |
| Buying Rate | ₦1,475 |
| Dollar to Naira (USD to NGN) | CBN Rate Today |
|---|---|
| Highest Rate | ₦1,472 |
| Lowest Rate | ₦1,446 |
The Central Bank of Nigeria continues to emphasize that it does not recognize the black market as an official trading platform. Nigerians seeking foreign exchange are advised to conduct their transactions through licensed banks and authorized dealers.

Experts have urged the federal government to sustain reforms in the FX market to ensure liquidity, transparency, and fair access, which would ultimately stabilize the naira and ease the burden on small businesses and importers.
