The Chairman of National Union Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Iru/Eti Osa West Chapter, Idris Balogun, has warned that any drivers of commercial vehicles that violate the new transport rule will be severely penalized.
Idris said this yesterday 8 May, at the new market bus stop, lekki, while joining the monitoring team to monitor the activities of the commercial vehicles within his jurisdiction.
He said passengers should not exceed 3 on a row and the row which conductor will be sitting should be two passengers including the conductor of the bus.

A commercial bus driver, Oladapo Olamilekan, said no commercial bus driver will go against the new rule as he felt that the rule has been implemented by the state government.
“We are happy new the new rule because it is better for us than to stay at home doing nothing,” he said.
