Don’t Vote Politicians Whose Children Are Schooling Abroad –ASUU

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has submitted that politicians whose children attend schools abroad do not deserve to get the votes of Nigerians.

This position was made known on Wednesday by the ASUU president, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke.

Osodeke made his view known during a Twitter Space Webinar organised by Premium Times which was tagged; ‘ASUU strike, Revitalisation Fund and the Way Forward.’

In his words, “Anybody you believe cannot take care of your interests, whose children are busy studying abroad, who are living abroad, don’t vote for them.

“I repeat, you don’t need to vote for them, because you don’t vote for people who will take your life.”

The lingering strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is not ending anytime soon based on the outcome of the latest meeting between the union and the federal government.

This is as ASUU president, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke slammed the government, saying it brought nothing to the negotiation table for the meeting and has not shown any commitment.

Osodeke made the submission on Wednesday during a Twitter Space event in which he spoke on the outcome of Tuesday’s meeting with the government which ended in a deadlock.

Giving details, the ASUU president said the current situation is worse than it was in the beginning. He added that the government is claiming it has no funds.

According to Osodeke, such claims are simply unbelievable, stressing that the only thing the present administration is focused on is how to win the 2023 elections.
