Double Tragedy as Jigawa Gov Loses Eldest Son in Car Accident Day After Mother’s Death

The family of Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, is in mourning following the tragic death of his eldest son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, in a fatal car accident.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the accident occurred just a day after the governor lost his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi. According to Channels Television, Abdulwahab was returning from Kafin Hausa to Dutse with friends when his vehicle lost control and flipped.

While his friends were injured and are receiving treatment at Dutse General Hospital, Abdulwahab was pronounced dead at the scene.

A close family source described the situation as a “double tragedy” that has deeply affected the family. The source said, “The governor is still mourning the loss of his mother, and now this. It’s a very difficult time for the family.”

Funeral prayers for Abdulwahab were held at the Kafin Hausa Central Mosque, attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders.

Governor Namadi, who addressed mourners after the burial, expressed his grief and urged for prayers during this challenging time. “It is Allah’s will, and we cannot question it,” he said.

Residents of Dutse and Kafin Hausa have been offering condolences at the governor’s residence.

Family friend Musa Ibrahim remembered Abdulwahab as a “humble and responsible young man with a promising future,” adding that his loss is felt across the state.

Jigawa State Information Commissioner, Malam Sagir Musa, also extended condolences, calling the loss a painful moment for the entire state. “May Allah grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus,” the statement read.
