Dr. Alausa Announces 2025/2026 Federal Government Scholarship Awards

- FG opens 2025/2026 scholarship applications under BEA.

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Education and the Federal Scholarship Board, has opened applications for the 2025/2026 Federal Government Scholarship Awards.
Ekohotblog reports that the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa, made the announcement, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for the scholarships under the Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA).

The scholarship program covers undergraduate studies in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt, and Algeria, while postgraduate studies will be available in Russia, China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania.
For undergraduate applicants, a minimum of seven distinctions (A’s and B’s) in WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) is required, with certificates not older than two years for non-African countries and one year for African countries. Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 20 years.
For postgraduate studies, applicants must hold at least a First-Class or Second-Class Upper Division degree, have completed the NYSC program, and be 35 years old or younger for Master’s programs and 40 years old or younger for Ph.D. programs.
Interested candidates are advised to visit the Federal Ministry of Education’s website at www.education.gov.ng and click on the Federal Scholarship Board icon on the homepage to complete their applications online.
Speaking on the scholarship program, Dr. Alausa reaffirmed the government’s commitment to investing in human capital development.

This scholarship program is designed to give Nigerian students access to world-class education and opportunities that will equip them for leadership roles,” he said.
The Federal Government urged all eligible candidates to take advantage of the opportunity before the application deadline.
