Immediate-past Medical Director of General Hospital, Epe, Dr. SB Mustapha, has blown his last hurrah as he calls time on his seven-year stint at the helm of the apex medical facility in Epe.
Mustapha, in his farewell note to the good people of the Division, stated that his time medical facility had come to an end following a transfer to another hospital which he did not name in his note.
“My Good people of the wonderful City of Epe, I am happy to inform you that I, Dr. S.B.MUSTAPHA, has been transferred from General Hospital, Epe, and would be handing over to Dr. ADESOLA OLUSEYI,” he wrote.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has contributed to the growth and success of General Hospital, Epe, in one form or the other all through my brief stay (6-7years) in the Protein Basket of the Nation.”

Dr Mustapha, who disclosed that he would be handing over the reins of leadership to his successor, Dr Adesola Oluseyi, urged the people to extend their full support to the new M.D to enable him build on the successes recorded over the past years.
“As I take a bow out of Epe to start a new chapter, I enjoin you all to cooperate with the new M.D. so as to bring the Hospital to the next level.”
Dr. Mustapha Shakiru Bamidele was born 2nd September, 1967. He hails from Badagry, Lagos State.
He attended Sanni – Luba Nursery / Primary Sch. Ogun State between 1973 and 1979. He subsequently attended Ogba Grammar Sch. Ogba, Lagos State between 1979 and 1984 where he obtained his West African Examination Certificate at
Dr Mustapha attended Higher School Certificate in Igbobi College, Igbobi, Yaba between 1984 – 1986 and further obtained MB. ChB. at Obafemi Awolowo University. Ile-Ife, Osun State between 1986 – 1992.
He got his first appointment with the Lagos State Health Service Commission as a Medical Officer on the 1st August, 1996 at Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, Lagos where he won an award as the best Medical Officer in Year 2000 due to his dedication, tirelessness and passion to serve.
He has worked tirelessly in different hospitals in Lagos state; from Agbowa General Hospital to Epe General Hospital, then back to Lagos Island Maternity Hospital and was subsequently posted to Harvey Road Health Centre.
He was further posted to Onikan Health Centre where he worked for over seven years and as Acting Medical Director for one and half year before being posted to General Hospital Epe as the substantive Medical Director in year 2015 till date.
His accomplishments during his seven-year spell at Epe General Hospital include upgrading of the hospital status from Service Charter Grade D to B and finally to A. General Hospital, Epe became chartered under his leadership with an award of the most improved non-chartered hospital.
Dr Mustapha also oversaw The resuscitation of the PABX Intercom machine service to aid communication within the hospital departments, resuscitation of Advocacy group which led to the increase in MOPD patients, as well provision of Petrol Generators at the service areas to augment the faulty hospital 250KVA Generator set and the epileptic power supply in Epe town.
The distinguished medical practitioner has also bagged several awards/honours which include the Micro-Nova 2015 Excellence Award in recognition of my contribution towards business growth to financial year, 2015, Appreciation Award for re-training the Traditional Birth Attendant toward improved and effective Health Care Delivery by Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board on 12th May 2016, Award for Best Improved Non-Chartered Health Facility Service Charter Initiative for Year 2017 by Permanent Secretary (HEALTH) as well as several other honorary accolades.
