“I thank God, for one thing, my daughter that was in the vehicle with me miraculously escaped the hands of the kidnappers because they have the intention of kidnapping her too. From the information I heard, you people stood by me by your prayers, by your money. I am now thanking you people, there is no other way to thank you than to say thank you very much,” he said.
Speaking further, He noted that the harrowing experience he experienced at the hands of the abductors made him realise the truth in the popular Yoruba proverb “eniyan l’aso mi.”
The academician said he was indeed touched when he was told about the unceasing rounds of prayers held at various worship centres for his safe return, “Who am I for you people to feel concerned about me?” he queried.
