- Akodu Street project is 70% complete with drainages fully installed
- Residents hail visible progress and improved access
- Project reflects purposeful leadership and commitment to results
The ongoing reconstruction of Akodu Street in Epe has reached 70% completion, with drainages fully constructed and the road already taking shape.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the project, widely commended by residents and stakeholders, is fast approaching completion and stands as a visible symbol of purposeful governance.
Inspecting the progress, residents described the road as more than just ordinary construction. They noted that it reflects the commitment of Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, to deliver practical results rather than empty promises.
“This administration is not about noise, but about results you can see and feel,” said Mr. Saliu Oduwole, a resident of Akodu Street. “Before now, flooding and erosion made this road almost impassable. What we are witnessing today is real change.”
Another community member, Mrs. Abiola Kareem, praised the speed of work and the attention to quality. “The drainages are well built, and the road is being shaped beautifully.
We can see the finish line already, and that gives us hope that better things are coming for Epe,” she said.
Speaking on the project, a council official noted that the Akodu Street road construction demonstrates the fearless leadership and people-focused vision of Hon. Surah Animashaun.
“Every block laid is a testament to an administration that puts people first. This project is about opening up communities, boosting economic activity, and making life easier for residents,” he stated.
The Akodu Street project is one of several infrastructure works embarked upon by the Animashaun-led administration, as part of her broader drive to modernize Epe and improve the quality of life for its people.
“Epe is rising. The story is changing. And it’s all happening under the watch of our visionary Chairman,” a youth leader in the community added with pride.
