Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education (EPST) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Tony Mwaba Kazadi has admitted that he fathered a child with his Deputy Minister, Aminata Namasia, calling it “accidental.”
Both officials were reportedly married but developed feelings for each other while working together in the education ministry.
The affair was revealed by a DRC journalist on Twitter, sparking criticism from citizens who accused them of bad conduct and immorality.
One Twitter user called DRC a country of shame and stated that Namasia had no education to offer young women in the country.
Another said that politicians like Kazadi and Namasia, who are popular and wealthy, should conduct themselves more honorably if they want to be referred to as “excellencies” or “honourables.”
Namasia was appointed National Deputy Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education under Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde’s cabinet in April 2021, according to The Heritage Times.
The revelation of the affair has cast a negative light on the government officials and their ability to lead effectively.
