  • Drama as Passengers Exchange Blows at Minneapolis Airport After Plane Landed

  • ‘Some of the individuals threw stanchions and broke chairs,’ says airport spokesperson

EKO HOT BLOG reports that violent fights broke out amongst passengers at Minneapolis International Airport after an aircraft landed on Friday, November 26.

The event happened shortly before midnight, after a Frontier Airlines flight landed down.

The violent outburst at the airport’s terminal 2 was captured on video and uploaded on social media.

One video posted on Facebook shows multiple groups of individuals assaulting and punching each other while other passengers look on in disbelief.

Jaziah Petit shared footage with the caption: “Sooo this what we on Minneapolis? As soon as we get off the plane they fighting oh and let’s not talk about how they had about three rounds in before the police came and when the police came they watched, it’s the little sister with the pole for meeeee.”

At one point, a traveller picks up what looks like a heavyweight barrier or bollard and attempts to hit someone with it.

“Some of the individuals threw stanchions [an upright bar, post, or frame forming a support or barrier] and broke chairs,” airport spokesperson Patrick Hogan told Minnesota newspaper the Star Tribune.

He said that police had responded to the brawl at baggage claim within a minute and a half to “keep the peace”, adding that “the focus at the time was on restoring peace and getting everyone safely to ground transportation and away from the airport.”

Despite the fact that authorities are investigating, no one has been arrested as of the time of writing.

According to Hogan, police are analyzing information and evidence acquired at the site before prosecuting specific passengers.

Paramedics were also summoned to assist passengers, however the injuries were considered minor, and all parties declined to be sent to the hospital.

In the United States, incidents involving disruptive flying passengers have increased in the previous 18 months.

According to staff accounts, a lady was detained with wire ties aboard a US aircraft on Saturday night after assaulting two cabin service members, hitting one and yanking the other’s hair.

At 6 p.m., the Spirit Airlines aircraft from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Nashville took off.

Crew contacted police on the ground before landing, who arrived to arrest the passenger for public intoxication shortly after, reported WZTV Nashville.
