Dredging Activities: Lagos Committee Indicts 65 Companies Of Tax Evasion
A Lagos state assembly ad-hoc committee has incriminated 65 registered dredging companies of offences ranging from defaulting on payment of dues and tax evasion.
The committee which was set up to investigate activities of dredging companies in the state, said only one out of 66 dredging companies in operation on Lagos waters has been fulfilling its obligations in payment of required dues and taxes to the coffers of the state government.

These were part of the committee preliminary report which was presented by its chairman, Hon. Victor Akande, during Plenary on Monday.
Akande noted that the of dredgers were robbing the state of huge sums of revenue by defaulting in the payment of statutory dues and taxes to the state that would have strengthened the internally generated revenue of the state.
