Driver Kills Two, Injure Three In Anambra Crash
Two persons lost their lives while three others sustained varying degrees of injury in a fatal motor accident along Awka -Onitsha express way, Anambra state.
The accident which occurred Sunday night near Odumodu junction, involved a Toyota Hiace bus and two motorcycles.
The bus driver was said to be on top speed when he lost control and rammed into the motorcycles, killing two persons and injuring others.
Acting Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kamal Musa confirmed the incident, attributing the crash to over speeding.

He said, “At about 1755hrs today Sunday 16/08/2020, a fatal road Traffic Crash involving a Toyota Hiace bus belonging to the young Shall Grow Motors, with enlistment number AAA 863XJ and two motorcycles with registration numbers NSK 808 QT and AA 863 XJ was recorded near Odumodu junction along Awka -Onitsha express way.
The crash involved 13 people, 8 male adults and 5 female adults. Two male adults were killed while 3 female adults were injured.
“Victims were rushed to Iyienu hospital Ogidi and the dead bodies were handed over to their families after being confirmed dead by the doctors.
“FRSC operatives from Nteje Unit Command were in charge of traffic while the Nigeria Police Nteje, took the vehicle and motocycles to their station for further investigations.
“The Sector Commander, FRSC, Andrew Kumapayi sends his condolences to the families of the deceased and warns motorists to always maintain the stipulated speed limit on the highways as road traffic crashes are avoidable.”
