DSS Detention: Court Set To Deliver Final Jugdement On Nnamdi Kanu’s Case

• Nnamdi Kanu has filed a suit against the DSS to compel them to allow him access to his medical doctor.

• The DSS has filed a preliminary objection, arguing that the suit is similar to another one that Kanu had filed against them.

• The case has been adjourned to July 20 for judgment.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned Nnamdi Kanu’s case against the Department of State Services (DSS) to July 20 for judgment.

Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is seeking an order of mandamus to compel the DSS to allow him have unhindered access to his medical doctor.

The court had granted Kanu permission to apply for the order of mandamus on February 1.

However, the DSS filed a preliminary objection, arguing that the suit was similar to another one that Kanu had filed against the DSS and that the court had already ruled on the issue.

Kanu’s lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), argued that the DSS had flouted an earlier order of the court by denying Kanu access to his doctor.

He also said that Kanu was in poor health and that he needed to see a doctor.

The judge, Justice Binta Nyako, adjourned the case to July 20 for judgment.
