Happy Easter Sunday
Welcome to the Resurrection Morning
He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. (Matthew 28:6)
What if Jesus Christ didn’t rise from death? If the resurrection did not happen, then we followers of Jesus, along with Saint Paul, “are of all people most to be pitied” (1 Cor. 15:19).
In other words, if Christ has not been raised we are the most wretched, unhappy, sorry lot the world has ever seen, because we have believed the cruelest deceit — the hope of a glorious salvation when all we are truly left with is sin, weeds, and death.
But glory be to God, it happened!
Then He was buried in a tomb purchased by Joseph of Arimathea, who was probably a secret disciple.
And He remained there for three Days… Silence!
Until the Resurrection Morning, where the King who holds the key to life and death rose up in power and majesty.
The question that faces us, what does the Resurrection of Jesus Christ mean to you?
The Resurrection cancelled all the curses placed upon us. The Bible says, …blotting out every handwritings and ordinances against us. If you are in Christ, no curse or evil word can manifest over your life. I hear so many things about generational and ancestral curses from forefathers and the rest, hey! Listen to me .. The Bible says old things have passed away behold all things have become new..
Thus the third day, Easter morning, witnessed the dawn of a new day. It signifies freedom. We are no longer slaves to sin. We have been bought with the precious blood of Jesus.
His Resurrection signifies that He is coming back again. Incase you still find it hard to believe, Jesus is returning for the second time. Not like a lamb being led to the slaughter, but like a King who rules the earth.
Are you still battling with sin? Now is the time to repent and make things right with God because the Bible says it is not His Will that anyone should perish but all should come to repentance.
Jesus loves you and He is calling you. No matter the gravity of sin you have committed, He is basking in love and mercy, willing to forgive you.
Do not say you have enough time. Remember there is no repentance in the grave. Behold now is the accepted time for salvation. With all the strange events happening in the world, we should know it’s a tip-off that Christ is returning and we must be prepared, so we can be rapturable.
Are you worried? Are you sad ? Are you afraid? Are you overwhelmed with life’s problems uncertainties, chaos, circumstances, Covid-19, poverty, limitations?
Weep not dear child, God says.
Come to me all the that labour and are heavy laden, I will give you rest.
There is peace and joy in Christ. Remember He said on the Cross, It Is Finished. Problems are halted in your life this morning! Stagnation is suspended! Poverty and lack is finished! Coronavirus is finished! Death is defeated! Tears is finished! From now, you will laugh and rejoice in the mighty things God is about to do for you.
Jesus died so that we may no longer have to die, that even if we die the physical death, we won’t die spiritually, because we have eternal life in Him.
Today, as you celebrate the Resurrection, may you not forget its essence. Christ has granted us a fresh start, a new day, another opportunity to prove ourselves to Him. He has cleansed our land from every plague. He has given us hope. He has given us a new life.
Please do not hesitate. Embrace that new life that Jesus is presenting to you this morning. Do away with the flesh. Aren’t you tired of living in darkness? Come to God’s light. Aren’t you tired of sin? Aren’t you tired of remaining in level one? Aren’t you tired of the lockdown? Aren’t you tired of living in fear? Aren’t you tired of begging to survive? Dearly Beloved, this is the time to break forth like a water out of the brooks, mount up with wings like an eagle and embrace the victorious life God presents to us.
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
