Ebonyi 2023: Izzi communities endorse ex-minister, Nwankwo for governor
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the populous Izzi communities in Ebonyi State, which span three local government areas, have endorsed Engr. Fidelis Nwankwo, the former Minister of State for Health, in the governorship race.
They praised the former minister’s numerous contributions to the Izzi clan’s development.
During a courtesy visit to the former minister at his country home, Oyege Village in Ebonyi State’s Izzi Local Government Area, leaders of the Izzi clan’s numerous localities made this known.
During the courtesy visit, community leaders stated that only Nwankwo has the capacity to rescue and reconstruct Ebonyi State if given the opportunity to become the state’s governor in 2023.
Investigation revealed that Nwankwo was a former chairman of Izzi LGA, former resident electoral commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and currently a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.
One of the leaders, Mr Sylvester Nwankwo, the chairman of Ezza-Inyimegu PDP Forum, who spoke during the courtesy visit, revealed that the former minister has all it takes to become the governor of the state in 2023.
He stated further that it is only the former minister who can make a good governor in Izzi land If given the chance and called on other stakeholders from Izzi clan to galvanize needed support for his victory.
Other groups who paid a courtesy visit to the former Minister includes; Ezza-Inyimegu PDP forum, Eziokwu Bu Ndu Multi-Purpose Association, Izzi Local Government Area, Omerugeopfuru Youth Assembly and Ndiagu Ward PDP Youths.
The groups however appealed to the former minister to urgently declare interest to run for the governorship election.
