Opalola, who explained that Rasheed Okoolu, the prime suspect in the killing, was still on the run, added that another dead body was discovered in his den when police invaded it.

In her words, “The prime suspect, Rasheed Okoolu killed a man in his den. We discovered the body of a man chained and dead in his den. Police are everywhere in the Ede community where the killings were carried out to ensure that he is arrested and brought to justice. Our men are on ground tackling cultists in that axis. The situation is under control.”

Hassan, a graduate of Banking and Finance was gunned down, together with a commercial motorcyclist by a suspected cultist in the early hours of Thursday at Agbalemobode area, as he went to purchase marijuana.

The news of his death did not go down well with the student population of the school as violent protests by the students heightened tension in the town, forcing several business owners to close abruptly for the day.

It was gathered that the cult group had killed three other persons in what could be perceived as a reprisal.
