EKO HOT BLOG reports that Care Best Initiative (CBI), a fast-growing, woman-led, and youth-driven NGO operating across the North-East of Nigeria, is hiring a Report Writer / Editor Consultant. The successful candidate will join the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team to strengthen CBI’s documentation and reporting efforts.

Role Purpose:

The consultant will produce high-quality donor reports, human-interest stories, case studies, and learning materials that showcase the impact of CBI’s interventions in sectors such as health, protection, WASH, and education. The position ensures accurate, timely reporting aligned with donor requirements and CBI’s strategic communication goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and edit donor reports in collaboration with MEAL and program teams

• Develop compelling success stories and case studies from field activities

• Collect and analyze data and feedback to inform reports

• Maintain a digital archive of program documentation

• Support proposal writing and internal communications

• Participate in field visits to gather context-rich content

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Development Studies, or Social Sciences

• 2–3 years’ experience in report writing in humanitarian or development settings

• Strong knowledge of M&E and donor reporting standards

• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills

• Experience working in fragile or emergency contexts is an advantage
