The upcoming governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state has been suspended.
The suspension is sequel to an order issued by a Federal High Court in Benin, the state capital, on Monday restraining the party and its national chairman from going ahead with the exercise.
The court held that the party and Adams Oshiomhole cannot to go ahead with the primary election in the state pending the determination of the suit on Thursday, June 11, 2020.
The ruling comes not long after the credentials of all the aspirants who have bought, completed and submitted the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms where displayed at party Secretariats in Abuja and in Edo state.
The aspirants include Governor Godwin Obaseki and five others namely: Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Hon. Dr. Pius Odubu, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi, Hon. Osaro Obazee and Hon. Matthew Aigbuhuenze Iduoriyekemwen.
