Edo Election: Governor Godwin Obaseki Bags Another Endorsement

The incumbent governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has been awarded another endorsement a day to Edo state gubernatorial election.

Ekohotblog learned that the Ijaws endorsed him under the aegis of the Ijaw G5 in Benin City.

This new endorsement was made known during the solidarity visit to the government house.

Speaking on the endorsement, the chairman of the group, Joel Aigbekumo, pledged to support the governor in the forthcoming election.

The Ijaw G5 is an umbrella body populated by the five clans of the Ijaw nation across the state, namely Olodiama, Egbema, Furupagha, Gharaun, and Okomu.

Reacting to the new endorsement and support, Governor Godwin Obaseki thanked the group, Promises to do more for Edo state if reelected.

The governor listed Ekenhuan Road and Benin River Ports as projects he will be working on in his second term as the state’s Chief Security Officer.

He informed the crowd that it would bring massive development to their communities when the projects are completed.

Edo State gubernatorial election is to be conducted on Saturday, 19th of September, 2020.

Governor Godwin Obaseki is set to square up at the polls with the APC flag bearer, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who is well-grounded in Edo State grassroots politics.
