The Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Jeret Tenebe, expressed that the party’s hope is for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to continue conducting elections as they did in the recent Edo governorship election.
Tenebe described Saturday’s election as the fairest he has witnessed, dismissing allegations that the APC rigged the election in favor of its candidate, Monday Okpebholo.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Tenebe emphasized that the APC cannot rig elections since they do not control INEC.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that he praised the electoral process, stating that if INEC continues in this manner, Nigeria will experience significant advancements in its electoral practices.
“Our party cannot rig elections because we are not INEC. The election we witnessed yesterday was the fairest ever conducted in this state, and we pray that INEC continues in this way.
If they do, Nigeria will see a truly good electoral process,” Tenebe stated.
He further highlighted that Governor-elect Monday Okpebholo will bring development to Edo State, with plans to empower women and youths.
Tenebe also attributed the defeat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, to the unpopularity of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
“This victory is a win for Edo State and its people. Okpebholo will bring development, empower the youths and women, and unite the state. Disrespect for traditional rulers will end, and this result accurately reflects what happened yesterday (Saturday).
Nobody wants anything associated with Obaseki anymore,” Tenebe added.
