Edo Feud: Shuaibu Withdraws Suit Against Obaseki

Eko Hot Blog reports that the deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu, has withdrawn the lawsuit filed against the governor, Godwin Obaseki, at the Federal High Court.

The case with the Suit Number FHC/ABJ/CS/1027/2023 indicating the Inspector General of Police, State Security Service, the Governor of Edo State and the Chief Judge of Edo State as defendants explained that the allegation made by Shuaibu stated that his boss had intended to remove him from office.

Shuaibu said his decision to withdraw the lawsuit against his boss was influenced by the intervention of well-meaning citizens of Edo state, Nigerians, Party leaders, traditional rulers in the state and the Archbishop of the Benin Archdiocese of the Catholic Church, Most Rev. Dr  Augustine Akueze .

The deputy governor stated in a circular that “with due respect to these eminent personalities and leaders whose persuasions and persons I cannot ignore, I, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu have authorized and instructed my Solicitors to withdraw the Suit forthwith”.

He stated his wish to thank well meaning-Nigerians, His Grace Most Rev. Dr Augustine Akubueze for their kind words, admonishments in ensuring peace and unity in the state.

In the circular, he expressed a special appreciation to his “senior brother” and boss, Godwin Obaseki for the path of peace.
