Edo Gubernatorial: Akpabio Keeps Hope Alive For APC
Eko Hot Blog reports that Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming Edo State Governorship election.
Edo State is currently governed by Governor Godwin Obaseki, who aims to hand over to his party’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
The APC’s governorship candidate is Monday Okpebholo.

Senator Akpabio conveyed his confidence during the South-South Zonal meeting of the APC held in Calabar on Sunday.
He stated, “I am hoping that by the time we’ll hold this meeting next year, we shall be sitting with two Governors from the South-south zone.”
“God has enabled the zone to be on the table,” and center of Governance in the country.
“45 years after the Late Senator Joseph Wayas, my emergence as Senate President is in the best interest of the zone. If we are committed, we will achieve anything, we are going to defeat Obaseki.”
