EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the election, where he secured 291,667 votes, defeating his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 247,274 votes.
Speaking to journalists in Benin City on Sunday night, Oshiomhole remarked, “Anything that God cannot do does not exist,” emphasizing that “those with wisdom understand that power ultimately resides with God.”
He continued, “While some insisted the election was a do-or-die affair, we maintained it was about choice. Today, by His infinite power, God has decreed that Senator Monday will rectify the eight years of challenges caused by Obaseki and Asue.”
