EKO HOT BLOG reports that Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has given his approval for the payment of a 13th-month salary to workers in the state.
The announcement was made during a meeting between the governor and civil and public servants ranging from levels 8 to 17. The gathering took place at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
Governor Obaseki commended the workers for their unwavering support to his administration over the past six years.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the workforce to ensure the continuity of ongoing reforms that aim to enhance the livelihoods of the people and promote economic prosperity in the state.
During the meeting, the governor addressed the workers’ request for a 13th-month salary to be paid in December. He assured them that their request would be fulfilled. However, he also urged them to consider how they could contribute to the state’s development between now and December.
Expressing his gratitude, Governor Obaseki acknowledged the integral role played by the workers in driving the progress of Edo State. He highlighted that his administration’s efforts were aimed at ensuring that the workers were in the appropriate positions they deserved, as they formed the heart and engine of the state.
The governor emphasized the need for sustainability in the reforms that have been implemented and stressed the importance of active participation from the workers.
He urged them to actively engage in training and retraining programs, as well as contribute to shaping the future of the state. Governor Obaseki expressed his desire for Edo State to serve as a model for the rest of the nation, instilling hope and driving progress.
Governor Obaseki reiterated his appreciation for the workers’ dedication and called for their continued support to maintain the state’s developmental momentum.
He emphasized the significance of their active involvement in the ongoing reforms and urged them to ensure that future leaders of the state would build upon the progress achieved.
